Be Warrior Challenge Hike 2025

Ben's Challenge

Be Warrior

On December 30, 2009, Ben Anderson, a beautiful, adventurous and strong little boy entered the world. Little did anyone know the rugged journey that lay ahead of him. At the tender age of eight years old, Ben was diagnosed with Cerebral Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD), a terminal genetic disease for which there is no cure. Ben chose to “Be Warrior” and battle valiantly against a foe that robbed him of his sight, his muscle control, his speech and eventually his life on this earth on July 31, 2020.

In remembrance of Ben, we invite you to join us for “Be Warrior” Challenge, a day of adventure and hiking on Mount Rose on September 13, 2025. We hope that this event will bring awareness to ALD and help us to raise money to support the work Dr. Keith Van Haren is doing to end ALD. Will you take the challenge and make a difference in the lives of those with ALD and their families?
