Brief Update on Ben’s Challenge

Hello Amazing Community!

I wanted to get a quick update out to everyone to share what a great success Ben’s Challenge was!  This is my post from Facebook:

Ben’s Challenge was a success! Thanks to everyone who participated in the challenge and donated to the VanHaren lab at Stanford. We had about 60 Warriors show up at the Mount Rose Summit Trailhead. They hiked in an amazing rain storm and were blessed and refreshed by beautiful clean air and a brilliant sunset and rainbow!

Matt completed the entire hike fully blindfolded and was guided by his sister Lora Anderson Pavilack and friend Greg Thomton. It took him 6 hours!

Though I planned to remain at the parking lot to assure everyone’s return, I took off about 6:00pm with my friend Kristy and had the wonderful opportunity to witness the joy and exhilaration on everyones’ faces having done something challenging and sensing the push and encouragement of the best warrior ever, Ben-Cole Anderson. Planning on making an iMovie but wanted to get these out to share the joy!

Big shout out to Fong Menante for the strong assist in making Be Warrior – Ben’s Challenge happen! We are full of gratitude for our incredible community.

Sharing the link to the VanHaren lab if you are interested in supporting the research to cure Adrenoleukodystrophy.  So far we’ve raised $14,500 of our $20,000 goal: https://my.supportlpch.org/fundraiser/3135164
